Brief introduction of Nanjing Dongshan Foreign Language School Nanjing Dongshan Foreign Language School was established in 2003 as a non-state-funded school. The school once changed its location for four times and was moved as a whole to No. 99, Shanggao Road, Dongshan Sub-district, Jiangning District, Nanjing City in August 2011. The new campus covers an area of 130mu (1mu= 666.67m2) with the total investment of over RMB300 million featuring advanced establishment, beautiful and spectacular scenery. The school pursues “the cultivation of high literacy beneficiary to students all life” as its operation tenet, observes “win others in an unexpected legal way” as its motto and follows “the literacy education” as its core philosophy and running characteristic so as to accomplish cultivation target of “the mountain, tall and stable; the water, pretty and quick-witted. Students of Dongshan Foreign Language School feature elegant behaviors, distinguished temperament, gracious morality and great ambitions”; the school develops the employee spirit of “work with one mind, full responsibility, self-respect and self-strength, coexistence and co-prosperity”; and thus form a superior school spirit of “individual like the eagle, group like the wild goose”. Having achieved prominent achievement in its operation, Dongshan has developed into a brand school with profound influence. The school has developed from 1 grade and 4 classes with 139 students and 14 teachers at the beginning of its establishment to a complete school featuring six grades and almost 60 classes with over 3000 students and 220 full-time teachers in the secondary , senior and international sections. Among these 220 full-time teachers, there’s a national outstanding teacher, 11 academic leaders of Nanjing city and outstanding young teachers, 96 academic leaders of the district and elite teachers as well as 31 teachers with the master’s degree with over 90% of them once commended or awarded above the district level.
